The standard Land Rover 300Tdi turbo is a T2 Shaft and a T25 turbo compressor wheel. This 300Tis upgraded turbo is a T28. The “hotside” turbine is remains standard size so not to induce lag. I've yet to drive a 300 with a hybrid turbo or upgraded turbo that actually drives well across the range. Easy to tune for certain applications - low down grunt or mid range, or high range. I think the standard set up works the best for real world applications

It depends how much you want to tune it. Unless you are going for a real road-burner then you can get a considerable boost in power from adjusting the existing pin (easy job and easy to reverse if you need to reduce smoke for MOT etc). There are a number of youtube vids and instructions online.
