Your issue may have its roots in other systems, e.g. the transmission (if automatic) and a more comprehensive scanner is required.

A car with the code P0100 may have some driveability issues, such as stalling, lack of power, surging, hesitation, etc. In some cars, the code P0100 can cause the fail-safe mode where the engine speed would be limited to 2,500 - 3,000 rpm. If there are other trouble codes present, they might need to be looked at first.

Open the boot and lift the floor mat out of the way and the battery will be to your left. Remove both the negative (black) and the positive (red) using an 8mm spanner. Then remove the securing strap wich is an 8mm bolt into the body and a long bolt into the floor remove the strap and then lift the battery out. Posted on Apr 24, 2010.

These are normally reset by just turning ignition off/on. get the fault code memory read at a garage and this may give you a clue as to a possible problem developing.
SOURCE: 2001 S Type Jaguar ABS and Traction Control fault lights on Hi First I suggest that you get a diagonostic check on ABS system. and then a visual inspection of the brakes. Warped brake rotors do not make noice, but the steering will start to judder when brakes applied at around speeds from 40 up .
